Business Development Manager – Specialty Chemicals
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen within our Iran market for a Business Development Manager – Specialty Chemicals.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible to develop new business in all BU’s as well as maintain relationship with various distributors and customers in the local market. A key objective of this role is to build the foundation of the organization in Iran and set it up for future success by putting in place the right structure and be the link between the local market and the sales organization in Dubai. The person that would take on this role would be based out of Tehran in a local office space and would report to the Director Speciaty Chemicals, Middle East.
Main Tasks And Responsibilities
Support and develop all of the Chemicals businesses by constantly communicating with distributors, customers and the internal organization.
Supports and advises on the compliance framework for the country and makes sure our distributors and customers are fully aware of our compliance processes.
Responsibility for setting up a representative office and potentially a legal entity in the country.
Implements the strategy plan and supports the respective Sales Managers in the design and implementation of the sales strategy for the country.
Supports and manages the distributor strategy together with the sales team.
Continuously follows up sales performance with distributors and makes sure they follow the agreed strategy and set rules.
Will help support Sales Managers when visiting Iran and makes sure to organize all things necessary to enable smooth visits and trips.
Provides an understanding of local customer needs, market insights and trends.
Work with external companies, government organizations and trade organizations to enable the setting up of a local business.
Is the responsible person to organize presence at the trade shows and various other marketing activities.
Supports the setting up of a potential future legal entity by communicating closely with local law firms.
Be familiar with all the applicable corporate as well as site policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct and HSE standards and acting in compliance with all applicable regulations.
Job Requirements/Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should preferably hold a chemical engineering degree or a chemical sales person with 3 to 5 years’ experience in a corporate environment. Applicant should hold strong business acumen, financial modeling and sales planning skills with good commercial experience. Strong people management skills, both direct and indirect are essential. Candidate should be self-motivated and be able to work independently. Experience working in a multicultural, multi-site and matrix organisation structure will be a distinct advantage. Good command of English and Farsi is essential.
